Quick answer: We are careful with hot yoga rooms. Fabric acoustic panels belong in dry, air-conditioned rooms, and a heated, humid room with lots of sweat is not that. In most hot yoga studios we suggest treating the lobby, waiting area and any unheated rooms, and only treating the hot room itself if it is dry enough and we have seen it. If it is not suitable, we will tell you.
Key takeaways
- Fabric panels need dry, air-conditioned rooms.
- Heat, humidity and sweat are a poor match.
- Treat the lobby and unheated rooms first.
Why are hot rooms a problem for fabric panels?
Our rule is simple: keep fabric panels away from water, steam and heat. A hot yoga room is warm, humid and full of sweat for hours a day. That is not a fair test for any fabric product. We would rather say no than install panels that will not hold up.
Is every heated room the same?
No. Some studios run a warm room that is fairly dry, and some run hot and very humid. Some rooms are only heated for part of the day and air-conditioned the rest. We need to see the room and hear how it runs before we say anything.

What can I treat instead?
Look at the unheated spaces, which can echo badly: the reception, the waiting area and a second room for non-heated classes. Panels work well there. Calmer front-of-house sound sets the mood before class. See gym acoustic treatment.

What helps the hot room itself?
Keep the music lower and use a headset mic, so the instructor does not need to shout over the echo. Soft items that are made for wet areas can help a little. Reduce bare glass where you can. These are small steps, but they are honest ones.
What if the room is suitable?
If the room is dry enough, we place panels high, away from where sweat and towels land. Ceiling panels are always fixed mechanically, never glued. We will tell you plainly what to expect. See ceiling vs wall panels.
What does it cost?
For unheated rooms, use our normal prices: from S$185 per panel, supplied and installed. A reception or waiting area often needs fewer than 10 panels. As example maths, 8 panels is about S$1,480 installed. See acoustic panel prices.
Can I send photos first?
Yes. Send photos and tell us the room temperature and hours of heating. Quotes from photos are free. See quotes from photos.
What about steam rooms and saunas?
No. Those are wet, hot spaces and fabric panels do not belong there. Keep panels out of showers and changing areas too. Treat the dry lounge or reception outside instead.
What we see on real jobs
We would rather lose a sale than install panels in a room that will wear them out. We look at how the room is run before we recommend anything.
