Schola Pilates Studio, Sennett Estate

The studio team told us the space sounded "a little echo-y". It is about 900 sq ft with a ceiling over 3 metres high, a bare concrete ceiling, a full wall of mirrors, glass-block windows and a hard floor. Music and the instructor's voice bounced off every surface, so cues were harder to follow.

After a free site visit, we sent a short video and a written plan, plus our panel catalogue. We gave two options: ceiling panels only, or ceiling plus wall panels. The studio chose ceiling only, so the mirrors and walls stay clear.

We hung 22 fabric acoustic panels from the ceiling as clouds, in neat rows between the beams, fitted around the track lights and two aircon units. The studio picked the colour from the top of our chart, choosing the shade that best suits the room's tones.

The studio runs classes every weekday, so we installed on a Saturday after the last class at 1.30pm and finished by about 7.30pm. We photographed and marked where every reformer stood, moved them out of the way, wrapped them during drilling, and put them back in place.

The work was done in one afternoon, with no classes missed. The studio team liked how it looked as it went up.
