Home Tuition Room

The family uses a small room, about 2.6 by 2.4 m, for tuition classes. The homeowner said the top priority was speech clarity, so students can hear the lessons clearly. They also hoped less sound would carry out to the living room.

The living room has a soundbar and subwoofer for movies and gaming, and they wanted that to sound better too. A bare hallway wall facing the toilet door was waiting for a painting.

We sent a proposal with 3D visuals, then visited in the evening to measure and show colour samples. The homeowner asked for slim panels in the tuition room because the space is already tight. We made the panels narrower so 4 fit in a row on the tuition room wall, in a darker beige.

We were honest that wall panels only help a bit with sound going out of the room. Most of that depends on how well the new glass door seals.

In the hallway, the family chose their own artwork, and we printed it onto an acoustic panel in place of the painting. In the living room we added light beige panels. Everything went up with no drilling, in about an hour, on a weekday evening.

The tuition room now has 4 slim panels for clearer speech. The hallway has a printed panel that looks like art, and the living room has panels for movie and gaming sound. We talked about adding ceiling panels later to help the tuition room even more.
